Windows into the Past
June 10th to September 8th
For many people young and old, nothing piques the imagination more than dinosaurs and fossils. This summer the Courtenay Museum teams up with the Qualicum Beach Museum to bring you a fascinating look into the past featuring fossils never before seen by the public.
Qualicum Beach curator of palaeontology Graham Beard has graciously agreed to loan some of their fantastic collection. Graham’s collection combined with our own is unsurpassed on Vancouver Island.
Dinosaur teeth and bones, micro fossils (fossils so small they can only be seen under a microscope), ammonites, crabs and sharks teeth are but a few of the things that will be found in this exciting new display. Designers have also incorporated natural history items such as skulls and skeletons of current day animals connecting past and present.
