The Courtenay & District Museum was pleased to exhibit the work of artist Donna Sloan in our Rotary Gallery during the summer and fall of 2001. Donna is an artist and scientific illustrator on staff at the Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta. Her professional work puts her front and center as the creator and interpreter of images of prehistoric species.
In addition to Scientific Illustration, Donna’s art encompasses Landscape (perfectly capturing the scorched Alberta badlands), Fantasy and Surrealism genres. Donna has also loaned a plaster cast recreating a model dinosaur, as well as, sketches and photographs showing the process of construction.
