Live Music: Tranquil Harp
December 7th @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

The museum is excited to welcome back the wonderful Tranquil Harp again this winter season. Patt will be performing ambient live harp music on December 7th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm while museum visitors explore the exhibits.

When she’s not at venues performing her vast array of Classical, Scandinavian, Celtic, Latin and Pop styles, Patt teaches music in her Parksville home studio. Click here if you would like to book Tranquil Harp for an event or lesson.

Comox Valley Santa's Workshop

The dedicated volunteers of Santa’s Workshop are back for Christmas 2024!

The Courtenay Museum will once again be a drop-off location for new or "gently-used" toys, books and games to help brighten the holiday season for local kids and families. The drop-off deadline is Friday, December 13th.

Exhibit: Winter Play
On now until Saturday, January 18th

If you were a child in the mid-20th century, what might you expect to see when you unwrapped your gifts? For this seasonal exhibit, we explore that question through beautiful pieces that span several decades, including tin toys, dolls, and sleds.

Check it out this winter in our Dogwood Gallery on the museum’s second level.

Live Music: Alan Jossul
December 21st @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

If you’ve been to the museum on Canada Day these last several years, you’ll be familiar with Alan's original compositions and cover songs colouring the gallery. Alan will be performing live ambient acoustic guitar and vocals on December 21st from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, the last Saturday the museum will be open until the new year.

Alan Jossul is a local, nationally known, solo and ensemble guitarist. As an educator, he specializes in teaching students of all ages and levels to play and enjoy string fretted instruments. Click here to book a lesson.

Mrs. Stubbs paints a picture of a dedicated person working for the good of the community. She even mentions Menzies’ role as “the Valley’s unofficial tooth-puller” in this May 13, 1970 article from the Comox District Free Press.
