To help you plan your trip to the museum, we've put together a few itineraries based on some of our visitors' feedback about their favorite ways to enjoy the Comox Valley--each one of them includes a museum visit!

NATURE LOVER

Stop 1
If you enjoy being outdoors, the Courtenay Museum Fossil Field Trip is the perfect opportunity for you and your family to explore the natural history of the Comox Valley. This three-hour tour, with experienced interpreters, includes visiting fossil sites on local rivers and is an easy activity for all ages.

Stop 2
Take a mid-day break and enjoy one of the many places to eat in downtown Courtenay.

Stop 3
If you're interested in seeing even more-get a view of Georgia Strait from the top of Mount Washington, a one hour drive from downtown Courtenay, or head over to Comox Spit for some salt sea air.

SWEET SHOPPER

Stop 1
Just want to relax and stroll? Have a browse through the museum and gift shop and let those more energetic in your group head out on a Fossil Field Trip. While they're out, have a stroll in Downtown Courtenay - known for its variety of boutique style shops and eateries.

Stop 2
When you want to rest your feet and give yourself a boost-head for Courtenay's famous Hot Chocolates on 5th Street - for a sweet experience.

Stop 3
Head out to Cumberland or Comox. Each has its own unique shopping experience to offer - all within a few minutes of the museum.

GALLERY & HERITAGE BUFF

Stop 1
You've had a look at the galleries at the Courtenay Museum - want to find out more about the culture and heritage of the area? Within a few blocks of the museum you'll find the Comox Valley Art Gallery, known for its contemporary exhibits and great gift shop.

Stop 2
Take a mid-day break and enjoy lunch at one of the many places to eat in downtown Courtenay.

Stop 3
